Michael brings more than two decades of experience in county government to his local government practice. After practicing residential and commercial real estate law for 12 years, he joined Buncombe County Government in 2000. He handled county tax matters before joining the County Attorney’s Office and later serving as Buncombe County Attorney. Michael retired from that position in 2024. At Campbell Shatley, he continues to advise and represent municipalities in the region.
