Brian has spent nearly four decades advising public school systems on education law. He has served as general counsel to school boards across North Carolina and frequently speaks to school officials and attorneys about developments in education law. Before joining Campbell Shatley, Brian was a partner at Poyner Spruill and, for more than 25 years, at Schwartz & Shaw. He has also taught at Campbell University School of Law. In 2023, he received the North Carolina Bar Association Education Law Section’s Ann L. Majestic Distinguished Service Award.
